SRG Home

SRG's principal office is located at 6935 Laurel Avenue in Takoma Park, Maryland, right at the border of Maryland and the District of Columbia, about six milkes due north of the U.S. Capitol.

BY METRO
SRG's office is four blocks from the Takoma station on Metro's Red Line. The ride is 15 to 20 minutes from downtown Washington locations. When exiting the Metro station, walk straight ahead toward a 7-11 store. Continue 3 more blocks until the street "dead ends." Straight ahead will be a beige, 2-story building with a red tile roof – 6935 Laurel. A Sun Trust storefront bank and Video Americain are on the ground floor. Between the two storefronts is a door to SRG's 2nd floor offices.

Sightseeing Notes: As you cross Maple Avenue (2nd block from the Metro) about 30 yards to your left, in an iron cage, is one of the original boundary stones set by George Washington when he first surveyed the District of Columbia. A block later, as you cross the District/Maryland line, enjoy Takoma Park's "Nuclear Free Zone" welcome sign. And as you cross the street right in front of SRG, notice, in front of the big clock, the bronze statue of Roscoe the rooster, a former Takoma Park institution who met an untimely demise crossing the road.

DRIVING FROM DOWNTOWN DC
A conveninet route is to drive north on 13th St. NW for about five miles. 13th St. turns into Piney Branch Road, zigs and zags a bit and then crosses a major intersection at Georiga Ave. Three blocks later turn right on Aspen St NW, go 5 blocks to the end of the street and turn left on Laurel Ave. At the first stop light (three blocks), turn right into an alley that leads to a free parking lot. Walk back out the alley and the SRG office is immediately to your right.

FROM THE BELTWAY (I-495) HEADING WEST FROM I-95
Exit at New Hampshire Ave. South (MD 650). Continue south for 2 miles to MD 410/Ethan Allan Ave. Turn right. At third stoplight, right in front of a large clock in the middle of the street, turn left into an alley that leads to a free parking lot. Walk back out the alley and the SRG office is immediately to your right.

FROM THE BELTWAY (i-495) HEADING EAST FROM VIRGINIA OR I-270
Exit at University Blvd. East. (MD 195) At the third stoplight, turn right on Carroll Ave. (MD 193). At the fourth stoplight, turn left, right in front of a large clock, into an alley that leads to a free parking lot. Walk back out the alley and the SRG office is immediately to your right.
