The Station Resource Group is open to any public radio broadcaster and stations may
join at any time.
SRG is a nonprofit membership organization. Members are entities licensed by the
Federal Communications Commission to operate noncommercial, educational radio
stations. These include universities and colleges, independent nonprofit
broadcasters, and state agencies.
What it Costs Station Resource Group dues are calculated on a sliding scale
based on each member's revenue, plus a fixed sum paid by every member. Current
members pay amounts that range from $3,500 to $45,900. The average is $8,900.
The revenue on which dues are based is a combination of the nonfederal support
stations report to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) plus the annual
grants that CPB provides. Dues are based on such revenues for all public radio
stations operated by the licensee. SRG excludes from dues calculations capital funds
that exceed ten percent of a member's non-capital revenue.
The current formula for annual dues is:
$2,000 + 0.0025 x (revenue to $3 million) + 0.0020 x (revenue from $3 million to $6 million) + 0.0010 x (revenue over $6 million)
