My kids and I greatly enjoy listening to pretty much all the shows. What gives me the greatest pleasure is when my younger one will play WABE by herself to listen to the news. I love that your programs have sparked that interest in their young minds. Thank you!!

2022 COVERAGE HIGHLIGHTS

2022 Election Hub— Hundreds of thousands turned to WABE’s 2022 Election Hub as a digital resource for Georgia election news and resources in a year when—yet again—all eyes were on the Peach State. Online at wabe.org, Georgia voters checked their registration status, got to know candidates, kept up with important dates and got the latest political news from WABE’s award-winning newsroom.

“The Last Year at Forest Cove”—WABE housing reporter Stephannie Stokes’s deep investigation into Forest Cove, an Atlanta Section 8 housing complex where residents had lived for years in nearly uninhabitable units, had an immediate and extensive impact. Shortly after the five-part, documentary series debuted on WABE 90.1 and wabe.org, the City of Atlanta began steps to relocate residents and hold the property owners accountable.

“The Heat Effect” — Across the Southeast, temperatures are going up and heat waves are getting longer and more frequent. In a newsroom-wide project, WABE’s “The Heat Effect” reported on how Georgians are adapting and how people here are working to help others who are more vulnerable.

Nightlife in Atlanta— Nightlife is central to Atlanta’s cultural identity, yet it is not immune to larger forces such as gentrification and crime. “Nightlife in Atlanta” brought attention to the challenges the industry is facing and held city leaders accountable for decisions that largely go unreported.
